A work-in-progress whole-house retrofit of an Edwardian semi detached house:
- Replacement flat roof on loft extension, with white roofing membrane to reduce overheating (2025);
- Solar PV panels (mostly hidden on a flat roof) and battery (2025);
- External wall insulation (2025);
- Repair and repainting of original timber windows (2025);
- Swift box installed (2025);
- Insulated limecrete floor with underfloor heating system (2026);
- Back part of house stripped out in preparation for internal insulation (2026);
- Temporary external awnings/blinds to reduce overheating (2026);
Not yet installed, but hopefully in place in time for Open Doors:
- ASHP;
- Sunamp Thermino heat battery;
Planned for future phases:
- Insulation of internal walls and ceiling of very cold 1920s kitchen extension (originally an outbuilding);
- Insulation of suspended timber floor using natural and vapour permeable materials;
- EV charging point;
- Further external shutters or other window coverings to control overheating;
- Rainwater harvesting.
