- Renewables: 7 PV panels on roof;
- Water management: water butt;
- Sustainable building materials: rock wool insulation, some timber-framed triple glazed windows;
- Ventilation: trickle vents and internal door adjustments to maximise air circulation and minimise damp. 24/7 ventilation added to kitchen, bathrooms which modulates with humidity levels;
- Lifestyle changes: smart meter, we try to use electrical appliances when the sun is shining;
- Fast growing trees: planted ten years ago cool the air at the front of the house during heat waves;
- Emergency blanket foil: placed on the outside of windows during heat waves keeps rooms cool.
