Our home is a 1950s Easy-Form house, of which there are many in Oxford. We have taken our house fully off gas by fitting an air-source heat pump and changing our cooking to electricity too. Our electricity bills are roughly the same as our combined electricity and gas bills would have been. We fitted solar panels 10 years ago which also helps with the cost of the air-source heat pump and we use a green energy supplier (Ecotricity).
