End of terrace 3 storey house built around 2000, Improvements made in 2025
Current Improvements:
- 16 solar PV (photovoltaic) panels, 8 on the south-facing side, 8 on the north facing side, for a total estimated output of 7.2kWh;
- Inverter and 5.12kWh battery;
- Air source heat pump for heating and hot water (hot water cylinder), and underfloor heating on the ground level;
- Induction stove, eliminating all gas uses for the property;
- Lifestyle: no car ownership, electric-assist cargo bike for getting around the city;
- House already had decent insulation and double glazed windows, which were just replaced.
Future improvements (not currently in the works, but aspirational):
- If car ownership, then EV, with an EV charger installed;
- Expanded battery capacity to ~15-20kWh;
- Rainwater reclamation system.
