1930s end of terrace house:
Ø Heating and hot water are provided by a 8kW air source heat pump, installed through the Clean Heat Streets project. The house is now 100% off gas, saving on the gas standing charge,
Ø This is an opportunity to see how a large hot water tank, cylinders, internal pipes and other equipment can be situated outside the house in a suburban garden shed, saving space in the house itself. The shed has been insulated,
Ø The combi boiler was removed, freeing up space inside a bedroom cupboard,
Ø Crucially, when the combi boiler system was removed carbon emissions from it ended,
Ø The house already had cavity wall insulation, loft insulation and other measures, and is kept well ventilated
